Begin your trip on Cape Cod with a “LOBSTAH" Dinner. It is on Cape Cod that the Kennedys shared with the community their love for the sea and the need to preserve and celebrate the Cape’s rich maritime heritage. Learn about President Kennedy’s nautical history. Touring includes the JFK MEMORIAL, HYANNISPORT, FRANCIS XAVIER CHURCH and HYANNIS ARMORY where JFK gave his Acceptance Speech for the presidency of the United States. Visit the JFK HYANNIS MUSEUM and discover why he loved the Cape so much. A HYANNIS HARBOR CRUISE is included where you can view the KENNEDY COMPOUND from the sea. Tonight is a special DINNER and ENTERTAINMENT with LIVE MUSIC from the era. Next it’s on to Newport, Rhode Island. On September 12, 1953 more than 750 guests filled the pews of St. Mary’s Church to watch as John Kennedy and Jacqueline Bouvier exchanged their wedding vows. Following the 40-minute ceremony, the newly married couple emerged into a throng of 3,000 well-wishers as they made their way by motorcycle escort to Hammersmith Farm. Today you will see ST MARY`S CHURCH and HAMMERSMITH FARM and many more stunning views and historic landmarks; true examples of why the Kennedy’s fell in love with Newport. This evening is one of the highlights of your tour! Dinner is at the elegant OMNI PARKER HOUSE HOTEL where John Kennedy proposed to Jacqueline Bouvier. Dine in the “PRESS ROOM” where young Jack gave his first speech at the age of six and where, later in life, his Bachelor Party was held! In Boston you will travel through time, spanning from John Fitzgerald Kennedy’s birth, to his adult life including his political career. See the many sites such as the Rose Kennedy Greenway Park, Old City Hall, Omni Parker House, Union Oyster House – a favorite restaurant and Cambridge and Harvard! You will have plenty of time at the KENNEDY LIBRARY and MUSEUM and enjoy commemorative exhibits. Celebrate tonight at a BIRTHDAY PARTY held in the President’s honor aboard the Spirit of Boston with dinner, dancing and birthday cake! On your last morning take a tour of the BOSTON STATE HOUSE where President-elect Kennedy delivered a speech called the “City Upon the Hill” to a joint session of the Massachusetts legislature on January 9, 1961.
